Girls Night Out on A-Town

On Wednesday night, Nushan and myself decided to have a little 'girls night out' session on A-Town (Adelaide City).

We first went to China Town for dinner... we started off by strolling around in China Town to decided which restaurant was best for our mood and we had a great time looking at who were inside to make a decision!! lol... We also decided to have some bubble tea, but only after we first had our dinner...

So we went into this Chinese grill restaurant, which was really crowded, and I think, no, i'm pretty sure that we had the biggest meal of our lives!!!

Of course after that huge dinner, we didn't have any room left for the bubble tea, so we decided to go for a walk on rundle street and to get some ice-cream.... (we always have room for ice-cream!)

And here is a shot of Nushan, sooooo terribly excited to get her ice-cream at Gelatino! lol...

The poor guy who was serving us was really really kind and patient with us... because naturally, being so indecisive like the two of us, he had to give us a little taste of almost all the flavours of gelato and ice-cream available before we finally settled for two different kinds of chocolates!!! lol..

Oh, but we did find a super great parking spot for my car... right between those two bikes in front of Gelatino! lol... ;)
So after getting our ice-cream, and knowing that my car was safe, we went for a long walk in the city and met a few Baha'i friends at different stages of our walk...

I don't know if it was the ice-creams that were too big or just us a tad bit too full, but when we got back from our walk an hour later, our ice-cream were still not finished... yeah they were almost melted, but that's the best part of eating ice-cream isn't-it?

So we went back to gelatino and sat there to finish our ice-creams!

And here is Nushan, posing for me once more... (notice how the ice-cream bucket is empty!)

We really had a fun night, just having a great time out, laughing like crazy and talking about girls stuff....

Birthday Gift from France...

On Wednesday I had to go to the city to collect a very special package!!

It arrived!! It finally arrived... Mona's birthday gift from her uncle Brian and auntie Fanny from France.

And what a lovely gift it was...

A beautiful golden letter 'M' pendant with three little diamonds on it (because she turned 3!)
(hmmm, does that me when she turns 18, you would send with 18 diamonds?!? lol)

The pendent is really beautiful... and here I am wearing it (all the time!!!) with the necklace that my mum sent for her last year for her birthday!

This girl is so lucky.... she has more golden jewelery than I do!! lol...

Play Park, Birthday and Naw-Ruz Celebration continues...

On Monday 23rd, we went strolling on the Parade to enjoy the almost end of the summer...
We went to have some ice-cream with our friend Nushan, and later on we went to the play park to sit back and relax while Mona ran around and made some new friends...

Here I present to you my new photography model: Miss Nushan!!

Ain't she the poser of the year!! lol...

And here are the kids having fun... euh... I mean Mona and auntie Nushan... lol

And look who came to sit next to me... a little birdy...
maybe I don't need Nushan to model for me after all... lol..

And here is Mona playing 'catch me if you can' with her new found friend...

Later that evening, we were invited to the Persian Restaurant by mamani, as it was her husband's birthday... We were so hungry and eat so much, that I completely forgot to take any pictures.... lol...
After the dinner, we went back to Mamani's house for cake and tea and also for our Naw-Ruz's gifts... So, here are some pictures of the rest of the evening:

Naw-Ruz Celebrations - Part 2

On Sunday 22 of March, we were invited to our dear friend Yassi's house!
Yassi is my francophone/persian friend and she was such a beautiful host on Sunday!

We started the evening with prayers and readings from the Baha'i Writings and we ended by all singing a prayer together.

We then have a variety of yummy persian food, and then yummy cakes, sweets and tea, all the while enjoying the presence and conversations with the friends who were there.

We had such a wonderful time and Mona spent all her time with her little mates, Aryan and Reeshab.

Here are some pictures of the evening:

Naw-Ruz Celebrations - Part 1

Last Saturday, 21 of March 2009, was Naw-Ruz, our Baha'i New Year!
We went to this huge celebration organised by the Baha'i Community of West Torrens.

Lots of people turned out and we were seated for a 3 course dinner and enjoyed the live Baha'i Rock-Band 'Hidden Cords'.
After the dinner, the party started with Persian beats and guess who was the first one to open the dance floor? Yep! Mona naturally!!!

Mona really had a ball... she was just like a little bunny, running around and jumping around.
She kept on dancing all night long, and dance with I think almost everyone!!!

She jumped around so much (at one point I had to asked the organisers to intervene and to get her off the stage and to stop jumping therefrom!!), she was so up the roof, that at the end of the party, she got physically sick... poor thing, I think the chocolate cake and lime soda didn't mix well with all the jumping she was doing!!

But all in all, we had a great time and saw some lovely friends that we haven't seen in a long long time.

Here are some pictures of the party:

Mona and uncle Nader, having a great time blowing and playing with the candles

Some friends and family at the party

Dinner time, at some point during dinner, Mona decided that she was a big girl now and could go sit next to her cousin Negin (because she doesnt need my help anymore to eat her dinner!!!)

And last but not least, some dancing shots!!

Meet Ollie, the newest addition to our little family!!

Olliee is our Naw-Ruz gift!!
We decided that it was a guy and his name would be Olliee (we did try several other really weird names, but Ollie was the one that we both liked best!! lol so Olliee it is...)

Isn't he cute??

We've been staring at him all day, making sure he is fine and adapting himself to his temporary home (my serving dish, because we have yet to buy him a pretty fish bowl)...

And of course Mona loves loves Olliee... lol...
And we've also been thinking of getting Olliee a couple more friends to keep him company...
