No More CHAOS!!!

My house was in total CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome) lol... nah, but seriously, it was!!
You really should have seen the state of the house before i cleaned it: Mona's toys were all over the place, in every room, in every corner. There was papers, letters and files on the kitchen bench, on the dinning table, all over in the office. There was a mountain of clean clothes, that desperately needed to be folded, on the laundry bench, the floor was covered with bags & shoes of all sorts and sizes! The shower glass doors were dirty with water spots all over. My pantry was completely disorganised and the kitchen cupboards were a mess, even found some toys in there too!! The bedrooms were filled with junks and stuff that obviously didn't belong there!! The bathroom was being invaded by magazines and catalogues! lol... a total battle field!!

I just had enough of all this mess and decided it was time to declutter the house!!
I spend two days and one whole night cleaning up and re-organising all the closets, cupboards, pantry, wardrobes, laundry, folding & sorting clothes, boxes, files, paperwork, toys, rooms, living areas, and the back yard!! I threw out so many junk... it's unbelievable the amount of junk we accumulated in less than a year!! I also pack 5 huge bags full of good clothes to give away to charity. Everything is in order now and so well organised that we all know where everything is supposed to go after we've finished using them!

I was really tired at the end of all this cleaning and my back was in pain and still is, but so happy with the results. Now it only takes me a few minutes each day to keep the house tidy, clean and smelling fresh, because now there is a place for everything in the house and everything is organised and I've set up a daily and weekly cleaning routine. I think I'm getting the hang of being a good little housewife.... lol... not!!
Even Mona wants to join in the cleaning now and helps by putting her toys away!

The only thing that i need to get around to is to tackle the dinner & lunch meals planning. I've decided to stop wasting time standing in front of the open fridge and wondering what to cook for dinner tonight. Plus it would save up money and time to know in advance what is for dinner and what i need for my weekly grocery list.
Well... that's another story... we'll see how i do with this one... lol...

Here are some pics of my clean and organized home.

Post about Baha'i Doc on TV removed

I had to remove the post i published earlier about the Baha'i documentary that was on TV a couple of days ago.
Why, I hear you ask? Well here are my reasons:

A friend of mine who is serving in Haifa, told me after reading my post, that when that documentary came out at the movies in Haifa, the Universal House of Justice asked them not to go see it.

I also just found out about this email sent by the Baha'i Public Information Office:
"We would like to point out that this program does not provide an accurate, well-researched or sympathetic portrayal of the Faith. It would be preferable not to promote the program among Baha'is or members of the public. Individual Baha'is should not be disturbed by the program, but remain assured that even negative publicity can lead inquirers to investigate the Faith in order to discover its true nature. If individuals receive any questions about the program, they should answer these in a straightforward and truthful way."

Even though i did told you about the positives outcomes of this program and how it lead 30 people to ask about the Faith. What really pushed me to remove the post was this part of the email: "It would be preferable not to promote the program among Baha'is or members of the public". And I think i was doing just that by explaining in details what the show was really about.
Also there must be a very good reason and wise wisdom in the fact that the Universal House of Justice asked not to watch this program!

But i would like to thank you all for your lovely comments about that post though. They were really nice to read.

Oh dear, oh dear...

What's going on???? First the vacuum cleaner blow up and now the pc!!!!
Didn't I tell you about the vacuum? Well i was busy vacuuming the house on Thursday night, when all of a sudden the vacuum just stop vacuuming. The vac was plugged in the hallway, next to the computer room. Everything in the computer room turned off also. It was pouring very heavily outside, sort of like a storm with really big winds and all, so hubby didn't event venture out to go switch the central board back on. But in the morning he did and everything went back on inside the computer room. But the vacuum is definitely out of order!!
Tomorrow hopefully we will be able to go and get a new one (a bag less one).

On to the computer now... We really lost everything on the computer this time!! (sigh in desperation here!!)
Yesterday, hubby bought a second hand computer for his work as his old computer was slowly dying and wouldn't even switch on for the last week. So he bought this new computer and also bought a dvd/cd burner for my computer, so that I can back up my files. So hubby was busy installing his computer in the living room, because he wants to use it as a media center for us to watch movies from our big tv screen (we used to play the movies from his laptop to watch it on the plasma)... While doing this, he turned off my computer to install the dvd/cd burner. And when he switched it back on, the hard drives started to burn and smoke was coming out of them!! When he took it out, they had partially melted!!
We were both so down because of that... our whole life was on those hard drives!! Even the back up hard drive burned!!.
We lost things like pics & videos of Mona from birth till now, pics of other relatives & friends & holidays, all the files of hubby's work, my files, my links, my scraps, my huge Baha'i files & docs, important info and documents of our daily life, all of our programs, movies, videos and lots and lots and lots of stuff!! Oh it was very painful... Hubby is going to get the drives replaced from the place he bought it and we will see if there is anything that can be saved from it or... but we really doubt so...

Today hubby went and bought new drives and installed it on my pc. He also installed Windows Vista and now my pc is fast and cool again, but so bare empty... it feels really weird having an empty pc... lol. I need to find some stuff to put on this computer!! lol...
(NB to Anis or Bry: Please give me the link or send me the program for Tribal Web. I need to download some of the pics back and also some programs to put on this pc. Thanks)
Hubby's media center is working fine on the tv screen. It looks pretty cool actually and Mona is really having fun taking the wireless mouse and running away with it... lol
The only thing he needs now is to have the sound system plug in, otherwise everything is done.

Shopping continues...

Update:
Here are the photos of the new stuff we bought.
While taking those pictures I realised how much my living room has become more like a nursery playroom!!!
I think we need a bigger house with a huge room just for Mona's stuff!!! Anyways...

*************************

Tonight was late night shopping as every Thursdays over here. We decided to go to Ikea because there was a list of things that we wanted to get from there.
We got Mona a small table with one chair and a stool. She is sitting on her chair at the table right now eating yogurt. She loves the stool. She is caring it with her everywhere in the house!! lol
We also got her a set of plastic cups, bowls, plates and cutlery (it's a set of 5 each in different colors). We also got her a little plush toy (a pink rhinoceros) and a set of 10 animal finger puppets. We also bought a little cloth/plastic storage bin to store all her plus toys.
Hubby got himself a long chaise (en rotin). He wanted since long to get a relaxing chair. He is sitting on it right now watching tv and drinking a glass of juice.
I got myself some kitchen accessories, some bowls and plates, a set of clear cups for persian tea and some boxes for sorting all of my makeup.
And we also got some fitted sheets and quilt cover set (one is yellow & white and the other one is pink & red and they are already waiting for us on the beds).
I haven't taken any pics yet but will add them to this post as soon as I do so.
I need to go check on Mona right now and clean up the mess that she is probably doing with the yogurt on her new table and also I should be putting her to bed as it's pretty late right now...

New Toys for Mona

We are taking good advantage of the massive toys sale around everywhere at this time of year!
Since Mona hadn't had much toys since her birthday, she is getting spoiled by us!!
Today, we went to Toyrus in the city and bought her:
1. A full cleaning set which contains a broom, a mop & bucket, a cleaning spray (fake), and a small brush set.
2. Her first ride on bike. It actually have sounds and songs and a musical horn.
3. A pram for her baby doll and a milk bottle that makes sounds when you tip it upside down (like in drinking position).
Mona absolutely love her toys!! She is crazy about them!!
You should have seen her face light up when we were opening up the gifts and letting her try it one at a time!!
She was so happy that she was giving free hugs & kisses to both mummy & daddy!!
Here are some pics of Mona in action with her new toys.

Crazy Shopping Spree

Darling hubby was working this afternoon, so for me not to be by myself, he gave me his credit card and told me to go shopping!! What a mistake!!! lol...
Mona & me had such a great time at the shopping mall. We had lunch together, then she took a little nap in her pram while I went to Target. I think I spent about 1h30 in that shop!! I found some cute outfits for Mona; a couple of pants, a pair of jeans, 2 t-shirts, 1 polo shirt, a jacket with hood and a pjs. I also got her new milk bottles & teats and other accessories!! I also found a little basket that goes into the dishwasher to put her bottles teats and caps in it for an easier and cleaner wash. When i came out of Target Mona woke up. So we went for a cup of coffee and snack for her. Then she went to play at the kids area. She had so much fun with the other toddlers there. Running after them, and socialising away with the cute little boys!! She didn't want to leave and as soon as i saw an opportunity to do it, I took it. Of course she cried as if it was the end of her world. But she was soon distracted by the toys when we entered the toys shop!! lol
Looking around the toy shop, I found a very cute little guitar by Leapfrog.
It's a bilingual guitar (French & English) and i absolutely wanted to get it for her because of that. It teaches numbers, animals and sounds they make. And also make music and plays songs. All in English & French!! It's so hard to find french related toys or books for my little trilingual daughter!! So when an opportunity like this shows up, I simply couldn't miss it!!

So after that I went to the book shop and book a coloring book for Mona and some crayons. Then i bought myself a book about family life entitled "The Yummy Mummy's Ultimate Family Survival Guide" by Liz Fraser. You would understand by my nickname why i was attracted to this book!! I actually started reading it this evening and it's a very honest, but so hilarious guide to what really goes on behind every outwardly-perfect family facade. I'm really enjoying it!!

Then we went to Big City Chic where i returned a pair of leggings that I had bought for myself yesterday. It just didn't suit me nicely. Oh yeah, i forgot to mention that yesterday afternoon, i was also out shopping. I was supposed to go get a top for the farewell party of Nasim, and ended up with a total outfit (jeans, top, a skirt, necklace, headband, a mascara, lipstick and eyeliner, and some more outfits for Mona!!).
Then we headed to Big W, where i got Mona 2 drinking bottles for her water & juice. One is pink and one is purple. It's the pump kind of bottles. She loves drinking from my water bottle because of the pump. I also got a big carafe (jug) to store her boiled water!

Then we went to Myers. We actually went there first just for a quick look (because i did got her some clothes from Myers yesterday.) and i was happy that i did, because they had a huge sales on toys!! And i had my eyes fixed on this educational toy for her since Naw-Ruz. But back then it was really expensive and i decided to wait till it becomes cheaper. So today i finally got it for her. It's called "Little Touch LeapPad" by Leapfrog.

It looks like a little laptop (and it's pink!!), on which you put books and insert like a sort of memory card. It comes with one book and i got her 3 more books. It teaches whatever the books are about (for example i got her an ABC & numbers book, a Baby first words book, and a little Dora the Explorer book). When you press different areas on the pages, it says the words for you, or sing the song, or do the actions, or read the story or ask you a question etc. It has 3 different levels to follow her development till 4 years old. I absolutely love it!! The books also comes in french which is way cool, because that will definitely help consolidate her French!! I just need to find out how to get them here, because they are not sold in Australia. Probably by internet or my brother in France. We'll have to see...

Then it was time to get home because the shopping mall was closing.... and hubby came right on time to pick us up!
I was very happy about my shopping today and yesterday and i couldn't tell the same for dear hubby!! lol... But he did mentioned that the stuff I bought was good stuff and cool, specially the laptop for Mona!! He was even playing with it himself when Mona went to bed tonight! lol... I have to admit that i was playing with it too!! It's really great fun and so cool...
