Today we went to the Royal Adelaide Show!!
What is it, what is it? I hear you ask...
Well the Royal Adelaide Show is South Australia's biggest annual event run by the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of South Australia. Experiences run the whole gamut from carnival rides, exhibitions and attractions to exquisite handicraft, cookery and wide variety of champion livestock and animals. It is at the Show that rural South Australia and City business alike can showcase their best produce, wares and services.
The Royal Adelaide Show is the 'people's event' and truly offers something for everyone, such as food and wine tastings; entertainment with bands, dancing, comedy acrobatic; exhibitions and displays; fashion parades; competitions; animals (livestock and pets); farmyard nursery and animal petting area.
We had such a wonderful time and my feet is sore... we've been walking and standing for 6 hours!!! And there were lots of stand and things that we didn't get the time to see...
Mona really enjoyed the farmyard nursery with all the baby animals there... loves birds and puppies, but she was very impressed by the little baby sheep and pigs. She was so excited!! You should have seen her jumping up and down and giggling in my arms when i was showing her and explaining to her what the animals were doing.
When we went over to the games and attractions area, she was so happy and excited by all the lights and musics... she kept dancing all the time, even in her pram and would extend her arms each time we came near plush toys. We actually got a lot of plush toys... Hubby won most of them for us... he won a spider man, a ducky duck, a dinosaur, a Dora the Explorer, a Homer Simpson, and a huge pink monkey!! I won the smallest plush toys ever!!! lol... a little tiger, a turtle and a doggy!!
We also bought some show bags from different stands and Mona got a Dora the Explorer show bag!! She absolutely loved it... It had a little trolley back pack (with wheels and handle) and she since we got back home, she kept loading and uploading the bag with stuff and then keeps pulling it all around the house... lol.
My favorite part of the show was the flowers & plants stands!! As soon as you entered the hall, the smell was divine... they had set up a huge garden in the middle, full of different flowers... it was truly a diversity of flowers and it reminded me so much of how beautiful our Faith is with all the diversity of people sharing the same love and goals...
Of course i had to take some pics of the beautiful orchids!!
They had huge butterflies hanging on the ceiling and i was showing them to Mona and telling that they were "Papillions" and she extended her arms and started to flap them and said "vol vol" (fly fly)!! So cute!!
Daddy bought us some flashing lights, a star one for Mona, a sword one for himself and a pink cowgirl hat for me!! We were flashing lights all night long!!
Mona was saying hi to everyone and waving her star light at them!! She was such a cutie!!
A bit earlier, when we stop at a stand for coffee, the lady who was serving us was just in shock!! She was shocked that Mona has beautiful big blues eyes and dark curly hair!! She kept looking up at us (hubby and me) and then back down to Mona and was just in total shock, her jaw wide opened!! And she kept telling to everyone who was there "can you believe how pretty and cute she is?!?!) I felt so embarrassed as it was a little bit over the top coming from a total stranger... well... we are getting used to this type of reaction now, cause every time we go out, someone notices Mona's eyes and ask us where did she got them from!!! I'm so tired of this question now, honestly!! ....my answer to this question is always...."Euhhhh from God!!"... lol...
Here are some pics of the show...
Can't wait till next year!!!
