New word Mona can say

Mona is talking a lot more now.
She makes a lot of different sounds that sound like real words (well at least to us they do... lol).
When she talks, she talks as if she is in a conversation.
For instance this morning, she was with me in the computer room and i was reading the blog of Nancy and there was pictures of Leah on it. And when she saw the pics of Leah, she started saying "baby - baby". And as soon as i got the camera she stopped. So i had to repeat the word baby for her... lol.

Our Naw-Ruz gifts

Naysan bought me a lot of stuffs for Naw-Ruz:
- Make up from the Body Shop worth 200$
- Beautiful 'after five' clothes worth 200$
- And a new mobile phone worth 200$

Am I a lucky girl or what? :)

So i got this new black and sexy mobile phone. It's a Samsung SGH-E250.
It's really nice and thin, sliding phone.
It's got bluetooth, music player, FM radio, camera & camcorder, video and sound recording, Digital data printing, offline mode (for when in airplanes or hospital), Name card, Java games, MMS, WAP and email, etc...
It got a special feature which i really like, it's call SOS message! So if you are in danger or in an emergency, you can send an sms to someone to let them know, without even opening the phone or unlocking it. (you have to select the contacts you want before hand though).
We tried that function and i must say i was impress. It's very discreet and quick.
So now i know that wherever i am, i can feel secure!!

So yeah, Naysan seeing how excited i was about the phone, decided to get himself a new phone too. (Mona used to play with his mobile phone and he thought that if he got me a new phone, after a couple of weeks, he would take it for himself, but since he saw that i was so happy using it and really enjoyed it, he decided not to take it for him and instead buy a new one for himself.)
So yesterday, we went to get him a new phone and saw the exact same phone that he gave me but in red. I really like it and thought it would be cute to have matching phones.
I called them "His & Hers" lol...

So he bought the red one, and we decided that i would take the red one and he would keep the black one. (you see i have matching red handbag and purse... i gotta have the matching red mobile to go with it... lol).

Here are the pics of our new mobile phone:

No more glasses...

I forgot to tell ya'all!!

Nays doesn't wear glasses anymore.

His new glasses were annoying him and hurting his eyes and giving him headaches. And since Mona keeps taking his glasses off and playing with them, he decided that it would be a better option to start wearing contact lenses.

So last week and earlier this week, he had several appointments with his doctor to try wearing different contact lenses to see which ones suit him best.

Officially since Tuesday he has stop wearing glasses. well almost. As its the first week of him wearing contact lenses, he had to remove them every night before going to bed. So in the evening he wears his glasses.
But if all goes well, and if the contact lenses works well for him, he will get the ones that you don't have to remove at night. He would just have to replace them every month. (it's a better option because with a baby at home, it's more practical in case of late night or early morning wakings).

Ooh, and we will try to see if he can get different colored ones. (He says he wants eyes same color as Mona, so that people stop asking where does Mona get her eyes from) lol...

Naw-Ruz Gifts

What a day it was on Thursday.

We woke up very early. Gave Mona a quick breakfast and got ready to go to the music class for Mona, but when we got there, we found out that the class had been cancelled. (Thanks for letting us know, duh!!). So we were upset a little and decided to stop at McDo for breakfast. Then we went shopping for some late Naw-Ruz gifts for the family of Naysan. We wanted to quickly shop because Naysan had some work to finish and we had to get home for Mona's afternoon nap, and then get ready to go to Grandma's house for Naw-Ruz's family dinner.
But it turned out that we had so many gifts to buy (big family) and deciding what to get for each and everyone was a very difficult thing.
So we ended spending 6 hours in the shopping center (from breakfast till 3.30pm).
When we got back we were so exhausted. Mona felt asleep after her snack. Which gave us just the perfect opportunity to wrapped all the gifts (28 gifts in all). Which took me about 2 hours. Then we quickly got ready to go to the dinner. And we were so late that they had already started eating.
We had a great time though. Everyone enjoyed their small gifts and we got back home around midnight.

It had been a long and exhausting day!!

Here are some pics:

New activities for Mona

Today we are going to check out a music school for Mona.
They have special music classes for babies & toddlers. And we got the first lesson for free.

Then tomorrow, we are going to check out two playgroups. And then we will decide which ones we will put Mona in.

I know she will really enjoy the music school and both playgroups. But we can only choose one playgroup for Mona, because firstly they are both on the same day and secondly i dont want to over stimulate Mona. She is still very young and don't need that many activities.

I'll try to bring the cam with me at the music and see if i can take some pics for you all to see.

That's it for me today, I have to go and wake up my two babies and get them ready to go.
Bye bye.

Mona's developments

Hello mum & dad,

Sorry that we didn't give much news of us lately. But we have been sick. After Mona's birthday, on the weekend that followed it, Mona felt sick, nothing serious, she has a runny nose. And on Monday we were suppose to go to the doctor for Mona's 12 months injections, and because she has a runny nose the doctor consulted her and found that she had another infection in ears and throat. So she cancelled the injections and gave her antibiotics. A different one because she already had infections and obviously it didn't go completely.
It's been a week now that she is on antibiotics and the antibiotics just finished today, but still she has the runny nose. So i am thinking of taking her to the doctor this Friday to check her out again and see if we can planned for her to get her injections soon.

Mona is growing very fast. It's incredible!! Since she turned one, she has been developing so much. She stand up by herself for longer time and plays so well alone. She is becoming more and more independent each day.

She talks a lot now. And when i say a lot, it's really a lot!! She keeps on imitating our words, it's not accurate of course, but everyday she is saying something new. And when we go out, you can't stop her. She just talks all the way in her pram and sometimes she will get excited when she sees people or other children and talks loudly, so loud that it almost seems like she is screaming... lol it's so funny, because then everyone will turn to look at her and talk to her. And she loves it when they do that.

She also stand up by herself and stay up for longer. She barely need to support herself while standing. And each time she does it we encourage her and she gets happy and want to do it more. She would sit down and stand back up, first holding on to the table or something, and then lets go and then look at her with big eyes and big smile on her face, as if she was saying "look what i can do!" She is such a cutie! She also enjoys walking with us holding her hands. She loves it actually. And now she crawls so much faster, in less that a blink of an eye, she can crawl from the living area to our bed room. And i have to keep all the doors closed, because she goes into the laundry and open the dryer to take out the clothes. She goes and play in the main bathroom and toilet. She opens all my kitchen cupboards and drawers and take everything out on the floor. I had to clear up one of the kitchen cupboards and put some of her plates, cups and other plastic and not dangerous kitchenware in it for her to play. Now she knows that this is her cupboard and each time i am in the kitchen, she follows me and go directly to play in her cupboard. lol

She is also testing us a lot. At dinner time specially, she keeps throwing the food on the floor whenever she doesn't want to eat it. And nothing we've tried has work so far. Sometimes she would listen to us and give us back the piece of food, but sometimes she will look at us in the eyes and throw the food on the floor and then give us a little shy look, that is so irresistible that you want to smile and kiss her!! She really knows how to work with us!! lol

The other time we went shopping, we were going through an aile where they had plush toy, she kept reaching out her hand (meaning give it to me). So daddy got her a little doll, she was so happy and hug the doll ect. We went into another store and they had plush toys (bears, rabbit) everywhere because of Easter. She immediately drop her new doll on the floor and started reaching out for a plush toy that was on the shelf. lol... It was so funny, because her action was so quick, that we would have missed it if we weren't looking in her direction. lol... So funny this girl.

Anyways here are some more pics:

Mona's second Naw-Ruz Celebration

Well, after celebrating Mona's birthday, Naw-Ruz was here!!

It was time to go out and buy some new outfits.
Everybody got new clothes for Naw-Ruz, mummy, daddy and specially Mona (she got several outfits!!).

We didnt go to the Naw-Ruz celebration in our community, because Mona got sick on the weekend that followed her birthday and mummy was also starting to feel sick.
So the night of Naw-Ruz (20th march) we were home, feeling sick and blue. We did the Naw-Ruz prayer together and eat some ordered dinner (indian) and then we finished up the "spring cleaning" (which was very much needed of course).

The next day, we went to the shops to buy our new clothes and that really cheered us up.
Then we went to the big Naw-Ruz celebration. It was organised by West Torrens Community (the one we were in before we moved to Marion). It was in a very big hall, and the guests were seated around tables and a 3 course dinner was served, while the program was on.
There was a devotional part, where prayers and poems were read, then i presented the power point they had asked me to prepare for them.
After that the festivities really started. People started eating, there was dancing presentations (Indian dancers, Filipino dancers, and belly dancers) And after dinner, the dance floor was open and everyone jumped on there to dance to the very loud and cheerful Persian music.

Mona made friends instantly with a little girl sitting to the table next to ours.
They were all over the place, crawling on the floor, under the tables, sharing and playing with their dolls. They were so cute together.

We left quite early, 10 mins after the dancing party started, because Mona and mummy were sick.
But it was a good celebration and we did enjoy ourselves very much.

Here are some pics:

Some much needed updates!!

Ok... (where to start?)

As you already know Mona is One year old now!! She's no longer a baby but a toddler!!
My baby is growing up!! anyways... back to the update...

The birthday was a success!! Everything went as planned and most important of all, Mona and us had so much fun!!

I didn't sleep much the night before the birthday party, it was a very hot night and felt very uncomfortable, and the only thing that was on my mind was the birth of Mona last year (she was born in the early hours of the 16th of March). And i was replaying in my mind the whole scene, from the moment we went to the hospital to the first contractions, to the first time i saw Mona and gave her a kiss. I can still see her big eyes wide opened and looking at me... It has been an incredible year indeed!!!

All day long we were singing "Happy birthday" to Mona and she was so happy and started to dance when we sang it to her after the 5th time... lol... She helped in decorating the house, by pulling on the decorations that daddy was putting up... lol.

During her birthday party, she was so happy and full of energy!! She was the center of attention (as always) and she knew it and loved it!! She played with her cousins and laughed and giggled with her grandparents and aunties and uncles, and most of all, she enjoyed eating the cake!! She loved all the balloons that were floating around and got very excited during the gifts opening time. As gifts she got some beautiful and cute outfits with gorgeous colors just in time for winter, a cute fleece gown with hearts on it, a beautiful pair of golden hoops earrings, some plush dolls, a book, a musical telephone set, a baby doll set, a kitchen set, and some money. Daddy and mummy gave her a pair of small diamond earrings that she wore for her birthday, and mummy is still making a scrapbook of her first year of life in pictures (have to add her birthday pics on it).

When the last guests had left, she felt asleep in my arms while i was changing her into her pyjamas!! She was so tired and had a wonderful first birthday!!

Pics of the birthday are uploaded on this address: http://picasaweb.google.com/sabbynur/MonaS1stBirthday

And here is a funny video of Mona eating her birthday cake:

Hello, hello.... anyone there?

Hi guys,

I came back to blogger. Yeah, yeah, I'm back!!
I had so many blogs, live journal, myspaces, and it was so hard to keep them all up to date.
So i decided to delete them and create this new one which is more accessible to me via my email account with google.
I love my gmail account, everything is so accessible by a single click from the menu tab: my pics, my calender, my blog, my doc, my videos, everything..... (gotta love that hun?).

Anyways, just wanted to post here and let you all know that you can read updates from us (specially on Mona) from here.

Love you and miss you all.

Bisous a tous
